I make this arai keerai kadayal atleast 3-4 times in a week. It can be prepared with siru keerai and mulai keerai too. Basically I am a health conscious person. I always think to avoid fatty, oily items and to include something that is rich in protein and iron in our regular diet.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\" trbidi=\"on\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\" trbidi=\"on\">We all know greens are very rich in iron. So I am sure in including this in our lunch. My kid who is a fussy eater likes this very much. This is the first keerai dish we introduce to babies after one year. We too like this more than other dishes with keerai like kootu, poriyal and sambar.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\" trbidi=\"on\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\" trbidi=\"on\">I make this simple keerai kadaiyal\/ masiyal which is very easy to do at the same time the amount of spinach consumption will be more. This dish is a nice way to make your kids eat greens. It tastes great when mixed with plain rice adding ghee. So here comes the ingredients,<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.chitrasfoodbook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/05\/Keerai-kadaiyal_thumb-3.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Keerai kadaiyal\" border=\"0\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.chitrasfoodbook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/05\/Keerai-kadaiyal_thumb-3.jpg?resize=600%2C450&#038;ssl=1\" style=\"background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-color: initial; border-left: 0px; border-right: 0px; border-style: initial; border-top: 0px; border-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;\" title=\"Keerai kadaiyal\" width=\"600\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Ingredients:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Arai keerai&nbsp; or Mulai keerai or Siru keerai&nbsp; \u2013 1 bunch<\/li>\n<li>Garlic flakes \u2013 5 \u20137 nos  <\/li>\n<li>Salt &amp; water \u2013 as needed. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Method:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Remove the leaves and wash it for 2-3 times until all the soil gets removed.  <\/li>\n<li>Boil 1\/2 cup of water in a vessel and add the keerai \/spinach to it.  <\/li>\n<li>Cook it well and don\u2019t cover the vessel with the lid. (Hope you all know this:)) After sometime flip it once and cook it.  <\/li>\n<li>Once its done, switch off the flame and let it cool. Don\u2019t drain the excess water. U can use it for grinding.(Always add less water to cook spinach.)  <\/li>\n<li>First, run the garlic flakes with the salt once or twice without water.  <\/li>\n<li>Now add the cooked spinach and grind it to make a smooth paste. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Mix with plain rice by adding ghee!! Try this with your kids, I am sure they will like it. Garlic flavor is the plus for this kadaiyal. U can refrigerate it and use for 2-3 days!!<br \/>\nAnother version in this is, just cook the spinach and grind it with salt. Soak tamarind in water and extract the juice. Add the tamarind juice to the ground spinach and allow it to boil. Do the seasoning with mustard, urad dal and hing. This we call as pulikeerai. I think most of you do this at home!!<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><u><span style=\"color: #0000a0; font-size: small;\">PALAK CHAPATHI<\/span><\/u><\/strong><\/div>\n<p>I tried Palak chapathi and Aloo paratha last week for dinner. It was soft and tasty. I got the recipe from my neighbour. I\u2019ll post Aloo paratha soon. Now comes the Palak chapathi,<\/p>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.chitrasfoodbook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/05\/palakchappathi1_thumb6.jpg?ssl=1\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"palak chappathi1\" border=\"0\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.chitrasfoodbook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/05\/palakchappathi1_thumb6.jpg?resize=502%2C392&#038;ssl=1\" style=\"border-width: 0px; display: inline;\" title=\"palak chappathi1\" width=\"502\"><\/a><\/div>\n<p>\n<strong><u><br \/><\/u><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><u>Ingredients:<\/u><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><u><br \/><\/u><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><u>1 cup &#8211; 250ml<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Palak \/ Pasalai keerai \u2013 2 bunches ( small)<\/li>\n<li>Red chilli powder \u2013 &nbsp;1 tsp(adjust )  <\/li>\n<li>Garam masala powder \u2013 1 tsp (adjust as per your need)  <\/li>\n<li>Ginger \u2013 1 inch (finely chopped)  <\/li>\n<li>Salt &amp; water- as needed.  <\/li>\n<li>Curd \u2013 2 tsp  <\/li>\n<li>Oil \u2013 1 tsp <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u><strong>For the dough:<\/strong><\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wheat flour \u2013 1 cup  <\/li>\n<li>Oil \u2013 1tbsp <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Method:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Chop and wash the palak leaves for 2-3 times and set aside.  <\/li>\n<li>Heat a kadai with 1 tsp oil and add the palak to it. Saute till its half cooked and get reduced in quantity.  <\/li>\n<li>Then grind the palak with little water to a smooth paste.  <\/li>\n<li>Now take the wheat flour in a bowl and add the ground palak, red chilli powder, ginger pieces, garam masala, curd and salt. Add water only if it is needed because the water in the ground palak&nbsp; is itself sufficient. If you feel its too watery, add some wheat flour and make a dough. Add some oil and knead it well.  <\/li>\n<li>Then cover and keep it for 30 mins.The dough is of green in color.  <\/li>\n<li>Now make even sized balls and roll it to a thin chappathi.  <\/li>\n<li>Heat a dosa tawa and make chapathis as usual. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Yummy, healthy palak chappathi is ready.
