Hope you all celebrated well by offering kozhukattai &amp; sundal. Now coming to the oats kara kozhukattai recipe, I always make oats dosa for my husband. Last week for a change I tried oats kozhukattai. I got the recipe from a cookbook. I made some changes to the actual recipe and tried for breakfast. It was so good. A good replacement for oats dosa and porridge. You will love it.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<p>\u00a0This recipe yields 10 to 12 pieces of Oats kozhukattai aka Oats dumpling. Lets see how to make it.<br \/>\n<strong><u>Ingredients :<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Quick Oats \u2013 1 cup<\/li>\n<li>Red chilli \u2013 2 (pinch into two )<\/li>\n<li>Curry leaves \u2013 a sprig<\/li>\n<li>Coconut pieces \u2013 5 (cut into very small pieces )<\/li>\n<li>Mustard seeds \u2013 1\/2 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Urad dal \u2013 2 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Chana dal \u2013 2 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Hing \u2013 2 \u20133 pinches<\/li>\n<li>Salt &amp; water \u2013 as needed<\/li>\n<li>Oil \u2013 1 tsp<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Method :<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Heat a kadai and dry roast the oats till nice aroma arises. It may take 3-5 mins..<\/li>\n<li>Coarse grind (Run the mixie once or twice )the roasted oats and transfer into a bowl..<\/li>\n<li>In the kadai, add 1 tsp of oil and season with mustard seeds, urad dal, red chilli, curry leaves and a pinch of hing.<\/li>\n<li>Add the coconut pieces to it and fry for a minute.<\/li>\n<li>Mix the seasoned items with the ground oats along with the remaining hing.<\/li>\n<li>Add salt &amp; water to knead like a chapatti dough.<\/li>\n<li>Then make small balls or your desired shape to make kozhukattai and steam in idli pot for 8- 10 mins.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Hot &amp; spicy oats kozhukattai is ready to serve !! Tastes the best when served hot.<br \/>\nNo side dish is required.
