U all may wonder if I say this is the first time Iam making this oats kanji. Yes, for the first time I prepared this quick, delicious porridge and enjoyed for breakfast today. I got this recipe from a blog, made some additions and relished with pickle .<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.chitrasfoodbook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/Oats-kanji_thumb-14.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: 0px; display: inline;\" title=\"Oats kanji\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.chitrasfoodbook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/Oats-kanji_thumb-14.jpg?resize=520%2C368&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Oats kanji\" width=\"520\" height=\"368\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div id=\"inpostAd1PlaceHolder\"><\/div>\n<p><strong><u>INGREDIENTS <\/u><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><u>1 cup \u2013 200ml<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>QUAKER OATS \u2013 1 \/2 CUP<\/li>\n<li>Butter milk \u20132 cups or half cup of sour curd<\/li>\n<li>Water &amp; Salt \u2013 As needed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To temper :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oil \u2013 1 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Mustard seeds \u2013 1 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Urad dal \u2013 1 tsp<\/li>\n<li>Red chilly \u2013 1 no ( Pinched into two )<\/li>\n<li>Curry leaves \u2013 a few<\/li>\n<li>Asafetida \u2013 2 pinches<\/li>\n<li>Ginger \u2013 a small piece ( finely chopped)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Coriander leaves \u2013Little ( chopped )<br \/>\n<strong><u>METHOD <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Soak the oats in water for 15 mins. This step is purely optional.<\/li>\n<li>Pressure cook the oats till one whistle. Mash it well with a ladle.<\/li>\n<li>Now add the buttermilk and salt. ( Add less buttermilk if it is too sour)<\/li>\n<li>Temper all the items given above and add it to the oats mixture.<\/li>\n<li>Mix well.Garnish with coriander leaves.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div id=\"inpostAd2PlaceHolder\"><\/div>\n<p><strong><u>TIPS<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you feel the porridge is too sour, add milk or water to reduce the sourness and adjust the salt accordingly .<\/li>\n<li>U can add finely chopped raw mango pieces to get a nice flavor and taste.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I think most of you know and make this oats porridge for your breakfast.
