I was attracted by the simple recipe and we tried with the left over idlies.It was very nice &amp; tasty. Usually i add G&amp;G , garam masala to make the fry. But this version is completely different from mine.No need to deep fry the idlies too. So its an easy &amp; low calorie food.Do try this let me know friends. <\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.chitrasfoodbook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/idlyfrymasala_thumb38.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"idly fry masala\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.chitrasfoodbook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/idlyfrymasala_thumb38.jpg?resize=500%2C379&#038;ssl=1\" class=\"wp-image-4883\" height=\"379\" width=\"500\"><\/a> <\/div>\n<p><strong><u><br \/><\/u><\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<div id=\"inpostAd1PlaceHolder\">\n<\/div>\n<p><strong><u>INGREDIENTS <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Left over idlies &#8211; 12- 15 nos  <\/li>\n<li>Sesame oil &#8211; 2 tbsp  <\/li>\n<li>Salt &#8211; As needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To roast &amp; grind :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coriander seeds &#8211; 1 tbsp  <\/li>\n<li>Red chilly &#8211; 4 nos ( long variety )  <\/li>\n<li>Grated Coconut &#8211; 1 tbsp  <\/li>\n<li>Small onion &#8211; 10 nos or Big onion &#8211; 1 no  <\/li>\n<li>Jeera \/ cumin seeds- 1\/2 tsp  <\/li>\n<li>Cooking Oil &#8211; 1tsp<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To temper :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mustard seeds &#8211; 1 tsp  <\/li>\n<li>Urad dal &#8211; 1 tbsp  <\/li>\n<li>Chana dal &#8211; 1 tsbp  <\/li>\n<li>Curry leaves &#8211; few  <\/li>\n<li>Cooking oil &#8211;&nbsp; 1tbsp<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To garnish :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coriander leaves &#8211; few<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Lemon juice &#8211; few drops to taste.<br \/>\n<strong><u><br \/><\/u><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><u>METHOD <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Heat oil in a kadai and roast the items given under &#8220;To roast &amp; grind &#8221; except coconut.  <\/li>\n<li>Grind all the roasted items along with grated coconut.Add little water &amp; grind to a smooth paste.Set aside.  <\/li>\n<li>Cut the idlies into small cubes.Mix the ground paste and toss well. Take care the idly pieces should not break.  <\/li>\n<li>In a wide mouthed kadai , add oil and temper the items given above .  <\/li>\n<li>Now add the masala coated idly pieces and saute well for few minutes by simmering the flame.Saute till the raw smell of masala disappears.  <\/li>\n<li>Switch off the flame and add the lemon juice.  <\/li>\n<li>Garnish with coriander leaves.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Serve hot !!<\/p>\n<div id=\"inpostAd2PlaceHolder\">\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Recently my MIL was telling about the idly fry she had in her brother&#8217;s place.
