We like this very much. We usually have this topped with sesame oil. I learnt this recipe from my MIL.It can be made in jiffy..If u want to make it fluffy , please add the water quantity which I mentioned in ingredients. Add more water to make it mushy.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.chitrasfoodbook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Poha_thumb-1.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Poha\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.chitrasfoodbook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Poha_thumb-1.jpg?resize=389%2C504&#038;ssl=1\" height=\"504\" style=\"background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; display: inline; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;\" title=\"Poha\" width=\"389\"><\/a><\/div>\n<div id=\"inpostAd1PlaceHolder\">\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"center\">\nINGREDIENTS<\/div>\n<div align=\"center\">\n<\/div>\n<table align=\"center\" bgcolor=\"#efefef\" border=\"0\" cellpadding=\"2\" cellspacing=\"0\" style=\"width: 400px;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"400\">\n<ul>\n<li>Thick Aval \/ Thick poha \u2013 2 cups  <\/li>\n<li>Lemon juice \u2013 4 tbsp ( adjust acc to tanginess of lemon)  <\/li>\n<li>Water \u2013 1.5 cups  <\/li>\n<li>Turmeric powder \u2013 1\/2 tsp  <\/li>\n<li>Curry leaves \u2013 few  <\/li>\n<li>Asafetida \/ Hing \u2013 1\/2 tsp  <\/li>\n<li>Salt \u2013 as needed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To temper<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sesame \/ gingelly oil \u2013 2 tbsp  <\/li>\n<li>Mustard seeds \u2013 1 tsp  <\/li>\n<li>Urad dal \u2013 2 tsp  <\/li>\n<li>Channa dal \u2013 2 tbsp  <\/li>\n<li>Red chillies \u2013 2 nos  <\/li>\n<li>Green chillies \u2013 2 nos<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Coriander leaves \u2013 To garnish (optional)<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<div align=\"center\">\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"center\">\nMETHOD<\/div>\n<div align=\"center\">\n<\/div>\n<table align=\"center\" bgcolor=\"#efefef\" border=\"0\" cellpadding=\"2\" cellspacing=\"0\" style=\"width: 611px;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\" width=\"609\">\n<ul>\n<li>Wash the poha once or twice to remove the debris and drain the water.  <\/li>\n<li>In a wide bowl take the poha &amp; add lemon juice , salt , turmeric powder , hing and curry leaves. Add the mentioned amount of water ( OR ) water to soak the poha (&nbsp; i.e the level of water should be 1\/2 inch above poha)..Let it soak for 30 minutes.  <\/li>\n<li>Then in a kadai , heat oil and temper with the above given ingredients in the same order.  <\/li>\n<li>Finally add the soaked poha and mix well using a fork like ladle to avoid turning mushy. It is also good for health.  <\/li>\n<li>U can also add roasted ground nuts for crunchy taste while tempering.  <\/li>\n<li>Please adjust the amount of lemon juice based on the tanginess of lemon.
