1\/2 tsp<\/span>  <\/li>\n<li><span itemprop=\"ingredients\">Cumin seeds &#8211; 1\/2 tsp<\/span>  <\/li>\n<li><span itemprop=\"ingredients\">Green chilli &#8211; 1 no ( slit into 2)<\/span>  <\/li>\n<li><span itemprop=\"ingredients\">Curry leaves &#8211; few<\/span>  <\/li>\n<li><span itemprop=\"ingredients\">Brinjal,Yam or Pumpkin &#8211; few pieces<\/span> <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span itemprop=\"ingredients\">Coriander leaves &#8211; to garnish<\/span> <br \/>\nGhee \u2013 1 tbsp<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"center\">\n<strong>METHOD<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><br \/><\/strong><\/div>\n<div itemprop=\"recipeInstructions\">\n<table align=\"center\" bgcolor=\"#efefef\" border=\"0\" cellpadding=\"1\" cellspacing=\"1\" style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\">\n<ul>\n<li>Pressure cook toor dal adding turmeric powder,a drop of oil and the required water.I used yam.So i added in the cooker itself.If you are using brinjal or pumpkin,do not add in the cooker.Cook the veggies separately in tamarind water.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div align=\"center\">\n<img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Udupi sambar recipe\" border=\"0\" height=\"172\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.chitrasfoodbook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/udupi-sambar-recipe-2.jpg?resize=500%2C172&#038;ssl=1\" style=\"background-image: none; Saute for a minute.Add brinjal or pumpkin if using.Saute for a minute and add the tamarind extract,turmeric powder and salt.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div align=\"center\">\n<img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" the dal + ground paste mixture.Add some water if necessary and allow the sambar to boil well for 5 minutes.Add jaggery when the sambar boils.Lastly garnish with coriander leaves.Transfer to a bowl.
