She make this tomato kurma kuzhambu (She calls this as Thakkali sambar in Tamil) as a side dish for idli, dosa and Idiyappam very often. The awesome aroma of this gravy that wafts through my apartment made me ask the recipe from her and tried it immediately. It was a lovely combo for idli &amp; dosa. 1 small piece<\/span>  <\/li>\n<li><span itemprop=\"ingredients\">Cloves &#8211; 1 no<\/span>  <\/li>\n<li><span itemprop=\"ingredients\">Cardamom &#8211; 1no ( small)<\/span>  <\/li>\n<li><span itemprop=\"ingredients\">Dhania seeds &#8211; 1\/2 tsp<\/span>  <\/li>\n<li><span itemprop=\"ingredients\">Fennel seeds &#8211; 1\/4 tsp<\/span>  <\/li>\n<li><span itemprop=\"ingredients\">Ginger &#8211; 1\/2 inch piece<\/span>  <\/li>\n<li><span itemprop=\"ingredients\">Garlic cloves &#8211; 2 tsp<\/span> <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Coriander leaves \u2013 to garnish<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"center\">\n<strong>HOW TO MAKE TOMATO KURMA &#8211; METHOD<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><br \/><\/strong><\/div>\n<div itemprop=\"recipeInstructions\">\n<table align=\"center\" bgcolor=\"#efefef\" border=\"0\" cellpadding=\"1\" cellspacing=\"1\" style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\">\n<ul>\n<li>Wash and chop the tomato into cubes. Heat oil in a kadai and saute the tomato pieces till mushy. Take the grated coconut, gram dal, &nbsp;whole spices, ginger, garlic, dhania seeds, khus khus and grind it coarsely without adding water. Saute the finely chopped onions till transparent. To this add, the ground masala paste along with a cup of water. Garnish with coriander leaves.
