Recently I posted <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chitrasfoodbook.com\/2016\/02\/kanda-poha-recipe-maharashtrian-onion.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #9b00d3;\">Maharashtrian Kanda pohe recipe( Onion poha)<\/span><\/a><\/strong><span style=\"color: #9b00d3;\">.<\/span> Following that, I tried this <b>Gujarati style Batata poha recipe without onion and garlic <\/b>for our breakfast.There is no much difference between ingredients of Gujarati &amp; Maharashtrian style batata Poha recipes. So I don\u2019t want to follow the same recipe with slight variations instead I tried <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.7spice.net\/breakfast\/gujarati-batata-poha-recipe\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: red;\">this recipe<\/span><\/a><\/strong> in which spice powders and Garam masala powder were used. I am really not sure whether this is the authentic Gujarati version but it came out very flavorful and definitely tastier than our usual Kanda batata poha. a handful<\/span>  <\/li>\n<li><span itemprop=\"ingredients\">Lemon juice &#8211; few drops<\/span>  <\/li>\n<li><span itemprop=\"ingredients\">Raw onion &#8211; finely chopped ( optional, I din&#8217;t use)<\/span> <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"center\">\n<strong>METHOD<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><br \/><\/strong><\/div>\n<div itemprop=\"recipeInstructions\">\n<table align=\"center\" bgcolor=\"#efefef\" border=\"0\" cellpadding=\"1\" cellspacing=\"1\" style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"top\">\n<ul>\n<li>Wash the thick poha at least twice to remove the dust. Soak it in enough water. i.e the level of water should be just 1\/2 inch above poha. Close the bowl with a lid and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes. In the mean time, wash &amp; peel the skin of potato. Chop it into thin slices as shown in the picture so that it can cook quickly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Heat 1 tbsp oil in a kadai and roast the raw peanuts first. In the same kadai, add another 2 tbsp of oil and splutter mustard seeds, cumin seeds and turmeric powder along with roasted peanuts. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div align=\"center\">\n<img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Batata poha recipe\" border=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.chitrasfoodbook.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/batata-poha-1.jpg?ssl=1\" style=\"background-image: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-top-width: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px;\" title=\"Batata poha recipe\"><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Add the chopped potato pieces, curry leaves and mix well ( If using boiled potato cubes, add it at the end along with Poha, no need to saute it).Add turmeric powder and salt for the potato to saute &amp; cook quickly. Cover the kadai for sometime, simmer the flame and let the potato pieces cook till soft. Now add the red chilli powder, dhania powder, garam masala powder , sugar and if needed some turmeric powder. Oil is more important to make a tasty poha. It doesn\u2019t look dry !  <\/li>\n<li>Adjust the quantity of spices as per your taste  <\/li>\n<li>Adding sugar gives a mild sweetness to the dish. So skip it if you don\u2019t like.  <\/li>\n<li>Using thin poha is also OK but soak it adding correct amount of water else the dish will become
